MARFRAN E TPA is a family of styrene-based compounds (TPE-S) suitable for the molding of two-material components with PA6, PA66 polyamide polymers also loaded with glass fiber. Thermoplastic elastomers can be overmolded on polyamide in different applications: in the furniture sector (chairs, tables, wheels, design components), in mechanical equipment and in tools (fittings, non-slip handles, electrical insulation), in the automotive sector (car interiors low emission of VOCs, components, cables), in sport and leisure.
MARFRAN E TPA have been designed to meet the needs of transformation technologies such as overmolding. These technologies, commonly called 2K technologies, involve the use of at least two materials with different mechanical and/or functional characteristics which are transformed together to make a single product constituted in some areas by one of the materials and in others from the other.
Typically, there is a need to add a soft and functional layer to a rigid substrate.
Two materials can be transformed with 2K technologies such as bi-injection or co-extrusion if they are properly selected and prepared for the purpose. In such case the “union” of these two materials takes place without the need of glues and/or assemblies of any kind avoiding expensive processes and making the production process faster.
To assess the degree of adhesion between two materials we follow the VDI 2019 standard.
This procedure allows us to provide the customer with scientific data on which to base serious and reliable projects.
The peeling force is calculated as the ratio between the detachment force in Newton and the sample width in millimeters.
